Teacher Ana Lu

Born in Silves, a dedicated practitioner, fascinated by meditation and devoted to my teachers Pedro Kupfer and Teresa Caldas, you can find in my classes inspiration in Free Yoga and Vijnãna Yoga.

My classes can range from a relaxing and deep yoga nidra to fluid and dynamic classes. The intensity of the practice is you who do it. Here you can find 75min or 90min classes in which the various branches of yoga are present: Meditation, Mantras, Purification Techniques, Breathing Techniques, Physical Postures and Relaxation.

I am here to direct you in this discovery of the body and how it is a vehicle to deepen the knowledge of Being.

Teacher Ester Andres

Natural from Silves, visual artist, enthusiast and dedicated to the practice and knowledge of yoga.

It was about 10 years ago that I began my journey in yoga, regularly and for 3 years, more exclusively in the Iyengar methodology.

Always looking to deepen my practice and knowledge, I did several training courses in Portugal and India, including 400 hours of TTC, and training with recognized teachers such as Usha Devi and Rajiv Chanchani (both direct students of Iyengar “Guruji”).

My classes are very inspired by the Iyengar methodology, placing a lot of emphasis on alignment and actions in postures, such as the use of props. This methodology provides practical tools for creating and maintaining bodily health and vitality, mental clarity, emotional serenity, and spiritual well-being.

Teacher Jo

Born in the UK, I came to live in the Algarve in 2015. I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and have been teaching Iyengar Yoga since 2020.

My yoga journey started in my 20’s, but really only took off when I discovered Iyengar Yoga. This was in 2014 and when I came to live in Portugal, a year later I found myself embraced in the Iyengar Yoga community in the Algarve. Since then I have dedicated myself to deepening my practice and developing myself as a teacher under the mentorship and guidance of Sol Viegas (Portugal) and Rachel Lovegrove (UK) - both Certified L3 Iyengar Yoga Teachers.

I have made trips to study and practice at RIMYI in Pune, India and with Usha Devi in Rishikesh. I attend weekly classes with Sol Viegas in Almancil, Portugal and online classes with Abhijata Iyengar from RIMYI. As an ongoing student I regularly attend workshops with senior Iyengar teachers who’s immense knowledge and experience is passed down through the lineage that is Iyengar Yoga.

I have a background in emotional well-being as a counsellor in current practice. My work in the counselling field has evolved through my study of yoga and I believe that Iyengar Yoga offers an insightful pathway to continued self awareness and overall well being.

“Most people simply want physical and mental health, understanding and wisdom, and peace and freedom ... Yoga, as it was understood by its sages, is designed to satisfy all these human needs in a comprehensive, seamless whole.” BKS Iyengar, Light On Life

Teacher Sandra Homer

I'm Sandra, 60 years young 😊.

With over 24 years of experience in fitness and movement, i began my journey as a Personal Trainer, before diving deep into anatomy, biomechanics, and posture-focused exercise through Pilates.

Over time, I shifted my focus to helping student´s who struggled with traditional gym classes, to explore muscle imbalances and functional movement patterns, using physiotherapy methods of exercise.

My passion is getting to the root issue of pain and dysfunction, offering a personalised approach to each student´s needs, in small group sessions.

I aim to help people move better, improve joint mobility, feel stronger, and age well while keeping sessions fun, social, and something to look forward to.
